PAP World Music Series presents – Albin St. Rose

Swing by Port-au-Prince, your local crossroads, for those who love Haiti, her culinary and artistic offerings, as well as the arts and culture beyond her shores. We are a true “port” where the world intentionally collides! On August 10, we bring to you Cuban vocalist and guitarist Albin St’ Rose – Músico Cantautor!

St. Rose is a self-taught musician, composer and singer from Camagüey, Cuba. Traveling to Havana in his early 20s , his aim was to become a musician. With his guitar and a mic in hand, St. Rose found himself immersed in the traditional Cuban music scene earning a living performing for tourists and eventually in favorite local hang, “La Lluvia de Oro” in Old Havana.

St. Rose’s musical pursuits next led him to enroll in the National Art School (ENA) in Cuba, then eventually he moved to to Buenos Aires, Argentina where he sang lead in a Cuban ensemble. In time, St. Rose struck out on a solo career, and has since been writing, composing and performing both as a solo artist and in ensembles.

Listening to St. Rose, you’ll hear a little of all of what has informed his life and musical journey, reggaeton, hip hop, R & B, ballads, funk, pop, trova….and of course Afro Cuban, his roots! Learn more about here here, and join be sure to join us on Saturday!
